Malchiodi and Catherine Hyland Moon.  Sairlayn also continues to do volunteer work for Free Arts NYC as an art mentor.

“Art Therapy is based on the belief that Art-Making helps people resolve conflicts, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness and integrate towards wholeness. Art Therapy is for EVERYONE!”

Practice Distinctions

  • As an art therapist, I help you use imagery to uncover the steps in your journey. While we will discuss the things we discover, you will not be required to talk throughout the session. Communication will be facilitated non-verbally from you to your artwork and then from your artwork to me through discussion amd clarification.
  • With options to suit all economic circumstances, I will work with you to design an individualized therapy program which you can afford. From least expensive to most, my services include weekly and/or bi-weekly group sessions, 40 minute mini sessions, 60 minute standard sessions, and 90 minute intensive sessions.
  • As a traditional and digital artist, I have more tools available to me than the average art therapist might. In addition to drawing, painting, collage and sculpture, we will incorporate iPads and Laptops to achieve insight.
